Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
Everything here was shot in the center of town, within a few blocks of each other. The best-known stretch is Umbrella Street, Calle de las Sombrillas, where hundreds of colored umbrellas hang over the street. The rest is the downtown around it: painted storefronts, corner shops, classic convertibles and the plaza.
What's in the gallery
Umbrella Street from several angles: tourists in a convertible driving under it, signs for guarapo and palomitas, and the umbrellas reflected in a car windshield. Then the streets nearby: Cafe Denice and La Primera Fey, vendors pushing strollers loaded with goods, a red convertible on a painted street, a boy feeding pigeons in the plaza, and people on the porch of a blue colonial building.
