Recent Photos: South Beach Sunrise Photography

These eight photographs spent their turn on the home page and now live here. All were made at sunrise, seven along South Beach, including Lummus Park, and one across Biscayne Bay at Bayfront Park. Shooting straight into the sun turns everyone in the frame into a silhouette against the sky.

Several of the people in them came out to watch the sunrise too. Three of them stand at the shoreline, one photographing the sky as seabirds cross overhead. A phone on a tripod records the clouds while a woman waits at the waterline. On the Lummus Park path, cyclists pass between the palm trees, and at Bayfront Park a man rides past the bow of a yacht as the sun breaks around it. One woman was working, dragging a full bag of litter across the sand with a picker in her other hand. See more from the neighborhood in South Beach post.
