Collections
Not every set of photos fits neatly under a single trip. These collections pull work together by theme instead: a way of seeing, a neighborhood I keep going back to, or a subject that turns up wherever I travel. Black & White gathers street frames where the light did most of the work, from long shadows on Miami sidewalks to a street painter in Old Havana. Haiti in Black & White brings together portraits and daily life from six trips between 2009 and 2014, faces and moments that read more clearly without color. Landscapes collects favorites from the Everglades and Hollywood Beach to Cape Town and Havana, a look at the range of what I shoot when the subject is land, water and light.
Closer to home, Little Havana documents Calle Ocho, a fifteen-minute drive from where I live: the murals, classic cars, cigar shops and fruit stands, and the Cuban flags that fill the street during the Calle Ocho Festival. Street Art follows murals from Wynwood and Little Havana to Toronto, San Juan and Medellín, usually with someone walking past or a reflection in the frame. World Travel reaches back to the early 2000s, with Guatemala, southern China, Japan and San Francisco from before most of the other galleries on this site. For individual trips, see the Travel and Caribbean galleries.
