Black & White

Most of my street photography starts with the light. Hard sun turns sidewalks into stages: long shadows stretching ahead of the people who cast them, figures cut into silhouettes against bright walls, a palm tree printed across a building. In black and white, all that's left is shape, contrast and gesture. Most of these are from the streets of Miami. The rest come from Hollywood Beach, Key West, Nassau, Old Havana and Paris.

What's in the gallery

Shadows on Miami sidewalks: paint-spattered jeans and a backpack walking into the sun, a Converse sneaker mid-step, a man with a cane silhouetted under an archway. A woman checking her phone in front of a Key West clapboard wall. Then the people: a bearded street painter at work in Old Havana, a man resting on stone steps in Paris, three women walking toward a lifeguard tower on Hollywood Beach, and a father cycling with his child under a palm shadow.

More from these places in Havana Cuba 2025, Key West and Street Art.
