Halmstad, Sweden
I was in Halmstad on business in 2015 and spent the evenings and free hours walking the city with a camera. It's a small city on Sweden's west coast, built along the Nissan River where it meets the sea, and in summer the light hangs around late, under big, fast-moving skies.
What's in the gallery
The Nissan River from its banks and bridges, with the glass City Library built out over the water on pillars. The pedestrian shopping streets around Storgatan, St. Nikolai Church on Stora Torg, a half-timbered building in red brick and black beams, the inner harbor below the grain silos and a marina packed with sailboats, and a red farmhouse in the open fields outside town.
