Key West, Florida
Key West is best seen on foot, or on two wheels like everyone else on the island seems to be. I walked Duval Street and the side streets of Old Town with a camera, shooting the conch houses, the churches, and the steady parade of bikes, scooters, pedicabs and tour trains that pass in front of them.
What's in the gallery
Old Town architecture: a yellow cottage behind a picket fence, a turquoise conch house under pink bougainvillea, the green Victorian at 804 Duval, white churches among the palms, and the Key West Lighthouse. And the street life: a woman sweeping the sidewalk beside teal bikes, a mounted officer on Duval, a cyclist passing the old Strand Theater, a man on a scooter with his dog, a red macaw on its perch, and a vintage Citroën 2CV parked in the sun.
See the island in motion in my Key West video.
